HondaLink Assist in Edmonton, Alberta

There is a seismic shift underway. The evolution of technology has enabled consumers to access information, stay connected to those around them, and participate in commerce like never before. They are immersed in a vast and sometimes complex web of networks designed to keep them engaged and satisfied. If we look at the use of smartphones and their evolution, it is a telling story. In Canada, over 85% of citizens utilize a smartphone for things like entertainment and communication. So it's no surprise that automotive consumers from St. Albert, Sherwood Park, Beaumont, Leduc, Spruce Grove, Devon, Stony Plain, Fort Saskatchewan and surrounding areas of Alberta expect this connectedness from their vehicles.

HondaLink Assist is an automatic emergency response system that is designed to get help when you need it most. Suppose you are ever in a collision and the airbag deployment sensor is triggered. In that case, the new collision detection system will automatically utilize a Bluetooth-connected phone to notify an emergency operator. The vehicle's current location will be provided to them, and they will try to speak to the driver directly. If the driver or passenger is unresponsive, emergency services will be dispatched to your location. The best part of this system is it does not require a subscription; as long as a Bluetooth device is connected, you are good to go.

How to Get Started With HondaLink Assist

  1. Set-Up HondaLink Assist by pairing any Bluetooth-enabled cellphone.
  2. Begin Bluetooth pairing by ensuring that Bluetooth® is enabled on your cellular phone and set to discoverable.
  3. Press SETTINGS on the Home Menu. Then press PHONE settings.
  4. Press CONNECT PHONE. Add a Bluetooth device to begin the pairing process.
  5. Once paired, an automatic prompt to turn HondaLink Assist On/Off will be given. Select ON.

How it Works:

When HondaLink is activated, the airbag deployment sensor is also on and designed to trigger in the event of a collision. If your phone is paired via Bluetooth, the system will automatically dial an emergency operator. If you do not cancel the call within 10 seconds or there is no response, the system will assume you are unable to respond. In this situation, it will contact the emergency call centre, and emergency services will be called.
