2019 Honda Clarity Plug-In Hybrid
The 2019 Honda Clarity’s plug-in hybrid technology provides both efficiency and performance. The 1.5L Atkinson cycle 4-cylinder engine (with electric motor) provides 181 horsepower and 232 lb-ft of torque, running off gas, electric power, or both. The Clarity offers three driver modes: Normal, Econ, and Sport, as well as an additional Hybrid mode for battery-saving efficiency. The all electric range gets you up to 76 km, while a combination of the motors puts you at a range of 547 km. Fuel consumption is rated at 2.1 Le/100 km on electric and 5.6L/100 km for gasoline, so no matter which motor you choose you’re getting excellent economy out of the Clarity. Easily recharge in as little as 12 hours in a household outlet, or 2.5 hours in a Level 2 charging station. Hybrid or not it’s still a Honda, through and through, offering the top tier Honda Sensing™ technologies including Forward Collision Warning, Collision Mitigation Braking, Lane Departure Warning, Lane Keeping Assist, and more. An 8-inch display is your connection to safety features, navigation and entertainment, and you can even stay connected to your Honda through your phone with HondaLink™. The same Honda reliability and luxury, only pushing forward in a new-age Plug-In Hybrid, the Honda Clarity is a taste of what Honda is launching into the future with.
Honda Clarity Plug-In Hybrid Model Changes for 2019
Since the Honda Clarity Plug-In Hybrid is still new, with its first generation debuting in 2017, there have yet to be any large-scale changes done on the model. The Honda Clarity rolls over its model year into 2019 with no changes from 2018. Even this new on the market, the Clarity has staked its claim as one of the best plug-in hybrids on the market, no matter the trim level. An ideal choice for those who’ve driven hybrids before, or on their first foray into the market, the Clarity is like Honda—a reliable choice.
