This mid-size sedan offers performance, style, and a host of standard features along with eye-popping fuel efficiency. Come into our showroom today and test-drive the no-compromise hybrid sedan you've been waiting for.

The Powertrain

The heart of the Accord Hybrid is its third-generation hybrid powertrain. This innovative system matches a 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder, 143 hp gasoline engine with two electric motors that generate 181 hp. The engine and the motors can work together to generate a combined 212 hp, power that is channelled through Honda's Electric-Continuously Variable Transmission (E-CVT) for spirited performance around town or on a twisty road. And yet it's rated for an outstanding 5.0 L/100 km around town and 5.1 L/100 km on the highway.   This innovative and intelligent system uses three driving modes to achieve such stunning efficiency. Around town, it relies on the electric motors alone for propulsion. These torque-heavy motors offer outstanding acceleration away from traffic lights or coming out of a curve. As the battery pack that powers them runs low, the Hybrid mode kicks in, and the gasoline engine turns a generator to keep the electric motors running at full speed. And finally, as the car approaches highway speed, the clutch automatically connects the gasoline engine directly to the front wheels.   These modes operate automatically. You don't need to do a thing--except drive normally. Wheels.ca reviewed the Accord Hybrid and actually got slightly better mileage than the car is rated for noting, "the mileage recorded was done without resorting to the absurd - such as folding back the outside mirrors or tailgating a transport truck to take advantage of the slipstream." They achieved this outstanding fuel efficiency by driving normally, even in rush hour traffic in Toronto.

Luxury, Interior Space, and Style

The Accord Hybrid features the same elegant looks as the gasoline-powered Accord sedan. If you look very closely, you'll notice a "Hybrid" badge and distinctive 17-inch aluminum alloy wheels that are designed to reduce drag. (It also doesn't have a tailpipe.) Beyond those subtle clues, the Accord Hybrid looks the same as a higher trim level of the regular Accord. Exterior design elements include LED daytime running lights, fog lights, and tail lights. An elegant chrome grille and a distinctive character line running the length of the car add to its upscale appearance.   Inside, standard features on both trim levels include a 12-way power adjustable driver's seat, heated front seats, leather-wrapped steering wheel, remote engine starter, and many other luxury touches. A standard 452-watt premium audio system can play your music through Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Step up to the Touring edition and you'll get leather seats, heated rear seats, and ventilated front seats. The Touring edition also adds high-tech features including a head-up display, satellite-linked navigation, Honda's HomeLink remote system, SiriusXM satellite radio, an AT&T Wi-Fi hotspot, and HondaLink Subscription Services.
