The 2019 Honda Civic is a design refresh of the most popular car in Canada. The 2019 Civic will include changes to its exterior design, improvements to its interior, and more safety and infotainment technology. Also debuting for the new model year is the Civic Sport, a new trim point that emphasizes enjoyment of the road.
Coming very soon to Alberta Honda, the 2019 Honda Civic will feature more of what consumers want out of their compact coupe and sedan along with all of the things that have made the Honda Civic popular in Edmonton.
New Look, New Interior
The 2019 Civic has refreshed styling to bring a little more aggression to the Civic’s look. The lower bumper has been restyled to change the intake for a thin, powerful appearance while the upper grille sees a gloss black treatment to emphasize that point. The headlamps are now also decked in black casing to go with those changes. On trim levels with fog lamps, those bezels receive the same blackout design.
On the Touring trim point, the Civic will have more chrome accents as well. New color choices for all Civic models include Platinum White Pearl and Cosmic Blue while the Civic Coupe gets an exclusive Tonic Yellow Pearl option. Inside, the 2019 Honda Civic has a redesigned steering wheel with better device controls for more intuitive use. The Honda Sensing package of safety technologies are now standard in the Civic at all trim levels and a newly updated display audio system is now in the LX trim and above. Improved Bluetooth integration means easier device pairing for buyers of the Honda Civic in Edmonton as well.
The centre console’s cup holder is now larger and dash trim changes to become more trim-specific. The LX trim has gunmetal gray, for example, while the Touring and Sport trims have brighter metallic finishes. Sound insulation is improved throughout the 2019 Civic for better on-road sound dampening.
Powertrains in the 2019 Honda Civic
The Civic will have two engine options. Most trim levels, including the new Sport, will utilize a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that outputs 158 horsepower and 138 pound-feet of torque. The Touring trim will use a 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that outputs 174 hp and 162 lb-ft of torque.
The DX and LX trim points will have a six-speed manual transmission as standard and a continuously variable transmission (CVT) as an upgrade option. The CVT is standard in all other trims for the 2019 Honda Civic Sedan. The Coupe model includes a manual transmission as standard in all but its Touring trim.
