Honda’s first-generation Insight was the first hybrid production vehicle sold in North America when it was introduced more than two decades ago. Now Honda is carrying on the tradition with the 2019 Honda Insight. At Alberta Honda, we think this is the Honda Insight Edmonton drivers have been waiting for. This is the first fully mainstream Insight, a beautiful sedan with graceful curves resembling an upscale Civic. You would never know at a glance that this is one of the most fuel-efficient sedans on the road. The driving experience is equally impressive. Trust us: you’ll want to stop by our showroom for a test drive as soon as it’s on the lot. Call our Sales team today at 877-269-0202 to schedule a test drive.
The Insight’s entertainment options reflect its high-tech nature. The 8-inch Display Audio system includes Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and available Honda Satellite-linked Navigation. HondaLink connects your phone to your car. An optional 452-watt, 10-speaker stereo system with subwoofer will do your music justice.
An Upscale Interior
If you think of hybrid vehicles as cramped economy cars, think again. The Insight offers a spacious interior with ergonomically sculpted seats. The trunk is spacious, too, offering up to 428 litres of cargo volume for your things. A 60/40 split folding rear seat expands the cargo volume into the passenger compartment. Leather upholstery is available on the standard heated front seats and optional heated rear seats. The driver’s seat features 8-way power adjustments. A cleverly designed centre console offers extra storage space.
The Insight is equipped with Honda Sensing Technologies to make the road safer for you, your passengers, and other drivers. This suite of safety tools includes Forward Collision Warning, a Collision Mitigation Braking System, Lane Departure Warning, Lane Keeping Assist (LKAS), and Road Departure Mitigation. It also features Adaptive Cruise Control with Low-Speed Follow, which can keep a set interval between the Insight and the car in front of it, even stopping and starting with the flow of traffic–perfect for congested commutes. Other safety features include Honda’s LaneWatch Blind Spot Display and a multi-angle rear view camera with dynamic guidelines
Additional High-Tech Features
The 2019 Insight proximity key entry system includes push button start and remote engine starting. Another terrific bit of technology is the optional AT&T Wi-Fi hotspot, which can support multiple devices at 4G LTE speeds. Now you and your passengers can stream music, movies, games, and more without worrying about using up bandwidth. You can even stay connected up to 50 feet away from the car.
Of course, the heart of a hybrid is its drivetrain. The 2019 Insight Hybrid combines a 1.5-litre I-4 gasoline engine with an electric motor and a 60-cell battery pack to generate a total of 151 hp and a stunning 197 lb.-ft. of torque. This powertrain makes the Insight fun to drive on both straightaways and twisty roads. Yet is still achieves an amazing fuel economy rating of 4.6 L/100 km in the city and 5.3 L/100km on the highway, for a combined rating of 4.9 L/100km.
