Mother’s day movies you might have missed!
This past weekend, unless you had your head buried under a rock, or screened all your mother’s calls, you’re probably aware that Sunday happened to be Mother’s Day. While mother’s day is of course an important day for all the mothers, grandmothers, pet owners, it’s also a pretty big weekend for Hollywood as well. So if you were too busy riding around enjoying the beautiful Saturday weather (not Sunday, the weather then was less than good… by a lot), you most likely didn’t get a chance to check out any of the great movies that were released that weekend. So, in case you didn’t here’s a few that you might have missed this weekend.
Captain America: Civil War
Released this weekend, this super hero flick pits the avengers against each other, dividing the members of the Marvel Cinematic universe, forcing them to choose sides between #TeamCap or #TeamIronMan. (I’m totally team Iron Man btw). The third part of the Captain America trilogy was raved by critics and fans alike, scoring a huge 179M dollars in domestic box office. So you’re one of the few people who didn’t see this on Mother’s Day weekend, don’t miss your chance.
This live action reboot of a Disney classic is in its fourth weekend at the box office and it’s still pushing strong. A perfect family adventure to take your kids, or take your mother, who most likely has not only seen the animated masterpiece, but has a strong childhood love for it. Plus, as a bonus you get to hear the voice of Christopher Walken as the singing monkey King Louie.
This collage of Hollywood stars band together for the pseudo-sequel to films like Valentine’s Day and New Years Eve. Featuring the lovable Julia Roberts as one of the lead roles, this homage to mothers and motherhood is the perfect movie to take your dear old mum to (I don’t mean your mom is actually old, it’s just a cute saying, alright?).
