New 2015 Honda Fit Edmonton AB
Honda has once again proven why it is among the top automakers in America with the new 2015 Honda Fit model Lima OH. They have done a complete redesign of the Fit from inside out for this new model year. There has already been a lot of buzz and inquiry surrounding the new changes on the Fit by our customers here in Lima. Well, everyone here at Alberta Honda is just as excited about the new Fit as our customers, so we decided to dedicate this blog post to sharing everything that is new and different about the Fit for the 2015 model year.
Since the beginning, one of the standout design characteristics for the Fit has always been its wedge shaped design. It is completely unique to Honda and there is really nothing else like it on the road. For 2015 Honda has continued with the Wedge shaped design, they have just improved upon it. Now it looks far less like a scaled-down mini van and more like is taking on a look and feel that is completely unique. It has a more aggressive look with a steep, raked windshield that comes in at roughly the same angle as its short hood. It also has a much more pronounced side crease that really speaks volumes about the new style and design. They have also added new, larger rear taillights to round out the exterior design changes.
As with previous models, the 2015 Honda Fit continues with its tradition of being a nimble, snappy and fun to drive hatchback. They have made the 2015 Fit significantly more powerful for the 2015 model year. It has been given a 13 horsepower increase over the previous model year. It is powered by a 1.5 liter, direct injection engine that makes 130 horsepower and 114 lb-ft of torque. That engine will be paired with either a standard six-speed manual or continuously variable transmission.
The Honda Fit sets the standard and leads the pack for fuel economy in a very competitive class that includes other heavy hitters such as the Chevy Sonic and Toyota Yaris. It an EPA estimated fuel economy rating of 33 miles per gallon on in the city and 41 miles per gallon on the highway.
The interior volume is another area that makes the Fit standout among its competitors. It has a significant amount of space and Honda’s exclusive “Magic Seating”. The Magic Seating is a split rear seat that can flip forwards, backwards, and upwards. This allows for four different types of seating modes that allow drivers to carry various types of large cargo with ease. Honda is the only manufacturer using this type of technology and it is very effective at making the car more versatile.
Honda has also managed to shave off 57 pounds of weight compared to the previous model, while still using more high-strength steel. This will surely improve the safety of the Fit and will most likely earn it a top safety rating.
The Fit is just one of many vehicles in a Honda’s lineup that has been completely redesigned and refined for the 2015 model year. If you have any questions about any of the new Honda vehicles or would like to schedule a test drive be sure to stop down and see us at Alberta Honda Edmonton AB.
